What time is it? It's
. . . Fujoshi O'Clock, the biweekly feature at Nagareboshi Review, when I bring
to you the latest fujoshi-related news and reviews and various shiny
BL-flavored things. Why? Because rotten girls need love too!
This week on Fujoshi
O'Clock:
- ふう子 at Hazukashii Kedo talks about the new Creamy Sport Anthology from Libre; that cover is surprisingly sexy (and kind of NSFW?).
- Yuki Shimizu's BL manga Ze is to receive the live action treatment, according to ANN. The original story's first six tanks were published in English by Digital Manga's 801 imprint.
- Digital Manga Guild - the freelance arm of DGM - is to translate light novels and doujinshi for English language audiences. Some of the releases will be digital-only.
- Yaoi Con has announced their guest of honor for this year's convention. It will be Uki Ogasawara, author behind such titles as Black Sun and Chronicle of the Divine Sword.
- Ogiue Maniax continues the Fujoshi Files with #44: Yaoi Fujiko of the manga series Fujoshi no Honkai. She's a school teacher by day, BL novelist by night and on the weekends.
Reviews:
- Melinda and Michelle's BL Bookrack reviews a number of titles: est em's Apartments of Calle Feliz; New Shoe's Honeydew Syndrome; Toko Kawai's The Scent of Apple Blossoms; Asumiko Nakamura's Doukyusei; Kai Nanase's My Sweet Home.
- Connie at Slightly Biased Manga reviews volume six of The Tyrant Falls In Love by Hinako Takanaga, which has become one of her favorites.
- She also reviews the first volume of Doukyusei by Asumiko Nakamura and wants more of this sweet and thoughtful series.
- Cynical Pink reviews Backlight by Makoto Tateno, a story of young men and dark secrets, and finds there is no smut.
- A Library Girl's Familiar Division reviews Wild Rock by Kazusa Takashima, a BL manga set in prehistoric times, which seems to value smut over story.
