This week on Fujoshi O'Clock:

• News for Youka Nitta fans: the manga-ka will be starting a new manga, which will start running in the April 28 issue of Be-Boy Gold.
• The first promo video for the Love Stage!! anime has been posted online. The anime is planned to air this July.
• Manga Therapy talks Evangelion and the Kaworu/Shinji relationship in both the anime and the manga. Naturally, major spoilers for NGE! Too bad it doesn't address any possibility of bisexuality, which as a bi otaku has me sadface.
• Otaku Champloo discusses Room801, an Australian BL convention that addressed both yaoi and yuri. And pigeons? Cool.
• The Japan Society Film Program posted photos from their 'gender-bending yaoi' party, following a viewing of Summer Vacation 1999 aka a film adaptation of Heart of Thomas by Moto Hagio. (Hat tip to Fantagraphics for the link!)

This week on Fujoshi O'Clock:

• Ichijinsha, a Japanese manga publisher, will be launching the BL manga magazine 'gateau' later this month. The BL imprint of the same name has been in production since 2011 as well as a bi-monthly anthology, also named 'gateau'.
• Lily Hoshino has released her fanart of the Gundam Build Fighters series. Hoshino is a noted BL artist.
• ANN presents their seven anime odd couples, which includes Touji/Kensuke from the Evangelion anime as well as the main leads of Tiger & Bunny. Ho yay!
• Via the Yaoi Corner Facebook page: Love Stage! will be adapted into an anime to be aired in 2014. It is based on the shonen ai manga with the same name by Tsuda Mikiyo and Eiki Eiki.

If you thought Evangelion's characters have a tough time in the anime, wait until you see what happens when some of Japan's most unhinged manga artists get their ink-stained hands on them! Neon Genesis Evangelion: Comic Tribute is an officially authorized one-shot anthology of parody stories assaulting Evangelion from all directions. Inside, Mine Yoshizaki (Sgt. I never thought I'd be reviewing a doujinshi collection but that is exactly what Dark Horse Comics has presented us: a collection of doujinshi shorts centered around Neon Genesis Evangelion, written and illustrated by a wide variety of established manga-ka (although most of them are better known in Japan than in the United States). Dark Horse seems to be the place to go for Evangelion spin-off manga since Viz has the actual manga firmly in its grasp for eternity. Honestly, as far as short collections go, it's not the worst but it certainly won't appeal to everyone, especially casual fans who aren't tuned in to every reference and in-show nuance of Evangelion's ever-growing canon.

Rebuild of Evangelion 3.0 Teaser Now Online

Below is the latest teaser for the third Rebuild of Evangelion film. The subtitle for this one is You Can (Not) Redo, falling in the same titling scheme as previous films - You Can (Not) Advance and You Are (Not) Alone.

The film is scheduled for Japanese theatrical release on November 17.

Yet Another News Round-Up (Now With 100% More TYPE-MOON)

This week has been very exciting, especially if you are a fan of visual novels turned anime. This latest round-up proves that Sentai loves me very much and so does Dark Horse Manga.

• Crunchyroll: Preview videos for the Little Busters! anime are now up, thanks to the Warner Brothers' JP YouTube channel. We get to hear more of the voice talent, which is always a plus. The link includes previously posted preview videos.
• (Speaking of Little Busters!, awesomecurry at OASG has posted a review of the LB! visual novel and covers all of the routes, including the Refrain route. Go and read it!)
• Crunchyroll: Sentai Filmworks has licensed the Fate/Stay Night anime for Blu-Ray release; the first collection is scheduled for January 2013. Sentai has already licensed the Unlimited Blade Works film of the same series. Unsure if it will be a Blu-Ray/DVD bundle or just BR.
• ANN: Dark Horse just announced a handful of new manga releases, including a Trigun anthology and a new Neon Genesis Evangelion spinoff. The NGE spinoff is called Shinji Ikari Detective Diary and is a private eye AU featuring Shinji and Kaworu.
• Finally, Fantagraphics has given Wandering Son fans something to talk about: a subscription option for future volumes of the Wandering Son manga. Readers will get a discount for pre-ordering as opposed to buying them individually as they come out.

AMV Of The Week: Let's Eva!

This week’s AMV is one of those deliciously wonderful mash-ups of unlikely paired anime series that I seem to post so much on this blog. And this time, it's Neon Genesis Evangelion done up in the style of Cowboy Bebop's jazzy opening sequence. It's one of the best OP mixes I've seen yet and it really does work, mixing an out-there mecha series with an equally out-there action series to the tune of the coolest bebop song in anime history (sorry, Baccano!, but Yoko Kanno did it first).

Also, insert whine about featuring Aqualine Studios twice so far for AMV Of The Week. Yeah, yeah, I hear ya! It's a coincidence, I swear!
